Because of this I feel like reapers should give a bonus to non-reaper boats should they sink. Many reapers are fairly inexperienced or casual players. I'm sure that theres a wide conception that reapers are all sweat lord pvpers and they'll sink you in 10 seconds but that just isn't true.

I feel that there should be something that encourages people to fight reapers back, because most reapers are not as good as you might think. That just encourages them not to leave the server ASAP. That doesn't stop people from running from fights though.

An update along the lines of that would be pretty nice. This would help keep people from leaving servers as soon as they see reapers, which is a problem I've encountered many times. Maybe an emissary boost, paying people more gold for being on a server where a reaper is present, and scaling up up with the level of the reaper. I would propose that there be some kind of system that encourages people to keep playing on servers with reapers. I'm well aware that people will run to regroup or fix their boat and I imagine a good number or people will just say 'just run a sloop'. I feel that there needs to be an incentive to stand and fight so reaper/pvp gameplay doesn't become an endless chase that becomes a toxic, pyrrhic victory or a red sea waste of time. I don't enjoy chasing other reapers because they don't want to fight for whatever reason. What isn't fun is chasing boats around for 45+ minutes for minimal loot.

It's fun to grab a crew for a galleon or the occasional brigantine to rob whole servers of their hard earned loot. I do world events, steal loot, and sink ships. I spend most of my time sailing under the Reaper's flag.
